The Sixth Expoalimentaria Fair 2014 has started in Lima; the region's largest international trade fair for food, beverages, machinery, equipment, supplies, packaging, services, restaurants and cuisine.
Delegations from Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, the Netherlands, Malaysia and Mexico have their own stands and over 650 companies will be exhibiting their products and innovations.
The event expects to receive over 2,500 international and 30,000 domestic visitors, including buyers.
ADEX President, Gastón Pacheco, announced that this year business deals should be closed worth $ 700 million.
In the framework of Expoalimentaria, a number of exhibitions and technical seminars will be organised on topics of interest to producers, exporters and buyers.
The 5th edition of the Innovation Competition will also take place, which aims to continue being a platform for the exhibition of the newest and most innovative products for the food and beverage industry. This year, a packaging category will be added to the competition.
The fair will close on Friday 29 at noon with the announcement of the winner of the Innovation Competition award, the launch of the ADEX Directory 2014 and a summary of the event's final results.
