Potential increase in competition
"The reason for the increased prices is the rising demand at home and abroad. We mainly supply to America, Canada and Asia." He says he's happy not to supply to Russia. "At the moment, we are not really affected by the import ban yet. That could change, of course, because for some a market has disappeared, and they're looking for new ones. It's possible that competition will increase. We'll have to wait and see. Price pressure is already noticeable in several fruits and vegetables, as a result of the import ban. Bell peppers are doing a bit better now, because of a small dip in supplies. Hopefully endive will also be able to maintain a good price, for this week I expect prices to remain decent."
