Extension of vegetable and strawberry cultivation in Germany

According to current figures from the German Bureau for Statistics the cultivation of vegetables and strawberries in Germany in 2014 has increased by 4.3%. The total cultivation area is now 129,200 hectares, reports the German Agrarmarkt Informations-Gesellschaft (AMI) on its website.

This extension is noteworthy, as there has only been an annual increase of slightly over 1% since 2005. Last year the cultivation area even remained almost constant. But last year's satisfying sales result and the slightly worsened sales prospects in other important cultivation causes an extension this year.
