Eastern Europe: potato prices continue to decrease

The potato prices in Russia are under even more pressure. Especially in the south and central region of the European part of the country the size of the harvest and supply continue to increase, reports the German Agrarmarkt Informations-Gesellschaft (AMI) on its website.

This makes the supply bigger than the demand which means the prices are decreasing even more. Depending on the quality and the variety, the growers are receiving between 12 and 18 Euro per 100 kg.

The price level in the Ukraine is a little lower. The growers here are only receiving between 9 and 15 Euro per 100 kg. As further reductions in price are expected, the wholesalers are holding back placing orders.
