Germany: more fruit bought during first half of 2014

German private households have bought 1% more fresh fruit during the first six months of this year, than in the same period last year, the German Agrarmarkt Informations-Gesellschaft (AMI) reports on its website. This puts a halt to the negative development of fruit sales. Apart from a higher purchase quantity, higher expenditures have also been seen. For one kilogram of fruit, households paid 1.88 Euro on average. That was 1% more than during the first half of 2013.
