From harvest to packaging

Dole shows banana route

In the video below, Dole shows the road a banana travels from harvest to transport. The film was made at a banana farm in Costa Rica. The fruits are harvested by hand and brought to the packing plant via a transport line that's pulled by a mule. There, the bananas are washed, receive a sticker, are treated to preserve freshness, and packaged. Two to three hours after being harvested, the bananas are ready to be shipped.
