IV International Ecuadorian Mango Congress

The Mango Ecuador Foundation that gathers all the country´s growers, packers and shippers is wrapping up some last minute details towards their IV INTERNATIONAL ECUADORIAN MANGO CONGRESS to be held at the Oro Verde Hotel in Guayaquil – Ecuador on September 4 & 5, 2014.

The Congress which takes place every two years has gained a solid reputation as of one of the most important get together events for the worldwide mango industry. Plenty of visitors from different growing and importing countries such as Ecuador, Peru, Colombia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Mexico, Guatemala, United States, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Canada and Europe, will again be attending the Congress, which is projecting an approximate global attendance of over 400 participants.



Several technical conferences will take place, approaching relevant subjects such as new harvest & postharvest technology, irrigation, cold storage, diseases controls, among others. For this purposes thirteen (13) of the most reputed experts in their different fields will be sharing their experiences and points of view with the audience. Among a few we can mention Dr. Adolfo Levin, Dr. Gilberto Nogueira, Dr. Jonathan Crane, Dr. Pablo Montoya, Dr. Jorge Osuna, Dr. Joston Simao, Dr. Edgar Rodriguez and Dr. Sergio Nieto.

The National Mango Board in charge of promoting mango consumption on the United States market will also be participating in the event. Mr. William Watson, Executive Director of this non-profit organization will be updating the participants in regards to market trends and penetration, commercial strategies, research advances and so on.

According to Mr. Bernardo Malo, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mango Ecuador Foundation, the event which is sponsored by many service providers and importing companies, will again become a big success. Mr. Malo believes that good communication between all mango growing countries of the region is a key factor in order to have a stronger and healthier mango industry.

The Platinum sponsoring US importing companies so far confirmed are: Amazon Produce Network, Freska Produce, Panorama Produce & Vision Import Group. Also a few more companies at Gold and Silver sponsoring levels such as Central American Produce, J&C Tropicals, Dayka Hackett, David Oppenheimer and CH Robinson will also be participating.

Service companies like APL Limited, NYK Shipping, Hapag Lloyd, MOL Lines, Copa Airlines and several others, are also official sponsors of the Congress.
