market report BLE week 29

Good prices for Belgian lettuce in Germany

On the German wholesale markets in week 29, there was a large presence of domestic iceberg lettuce in particular. There was also a small supply from the Netherlands. Part of the produce suffered from quality issues, on account of them being harvested during the rain. There was plenty of domestic lettuce too, as well as supply from Belgium. The German lettuce suffered from price fluctuations, but the Belgian lettuce was sold at rather high prices. For the special lettuce varieties, the market was reasonably satisfying. There was very little lamb's lettuce, so those prices went up.
