Russian State Revenue Service calls on mushroom and berry pickers
As explained by the State Revenue Service, there is no need to register as an entrepreneur unless the income exceeds 2845.74 EUR per year. However, a record of income must be kept in order to account for expenses.
In case the income from mushroom/berry/herb/flower gathering, summed up with crop yield and touristic rural services, exceeds 2845.74 EUR per year, the income tax must be paid.
A person, who buys up mushrooms, berries, and herbs, must be registered. If it is bought for a judicial person, a labour contract must be signed.
Furthermore, if payment is made by cash, the following information must be entered in account book: Name and Surname of Gatherer, Personal Code, Product (Name, Unit, and Quantity) and Amount Paid (in numbers and in words).
The State Revenue Service also notes that mushroom/berry/herb buyers do not have to withhold tax on the spot, but by February, 1st (in 2015 – February, 2nd) they need to inform Tax Authority about the sum paid to a private person. If the sum is less than 300 EUR, no notification is required.
