Non-standard package of carrots imported from Israel

The Federal Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service received the required documentation for phytosanitary control of a load of fresh carrots (27.4 tonnes) imported into a Russian port from Israel on Zim Sao Paolo motor vessel.

In the course of controlling procedures, a violation of plant quarantine legislation was detected – absence of package marking.

According to phytosanitary rules and regulations, every imported unit package of fruit and vegetables must be marked with information about product name, country of origin, exporter and/or re-exporter.

Upon this violation of phytosanitary standards and rules, natural and juridical persons are informed of administrative offence reports.
