KIKU® apples displayed at PMA convention in New Zealand

At the recent PMA convention in Auckland, KIKU® apples were displayed by one of the licensed KIKU® partners from New Zealand. After previous events in Melbourne and Sydney this convention has emerged to be an important platform in Oceania. Meantime the recent Auckland conference managed to draw a record of some 1000 delegates. Majority of participants came from Australia or New Zealand and constituted a good representation of the industry and retail sector in these countries.

KIKU® apples attracted interest with the delegates at PMA Auckland.

While in the past KIKU® apples grown in New Zealand were predominantly exported to complement Northern Hemisphere production. Over the past 8 years these exports have achieved significant success in American and Asian markets. With maturing plantings however increasing volumes will become available for consumption in Australia and New Zealand alike.

Originating from a strict selection program, the protected apple variety marketed under the KIKU® brand, is characterized by its attractive ruby-red stripes coupled with a superior taste and high Brix levels, clearly matching consumer preferences.

Vertically integrated company PickMee!, who participated as a KIKU® partner right from the beginning, was showcasing at their stand alongside other premium products, their recent harvest of KIKU® apples. During the 2 days a significant interest from retailers and distributors was noticed, who are looking for products that can enhance the overall performance in that category.

Due to its managed production, which includes stringent quality standards and dedicated distribution channels, KIKU® apples have proven to return premiums for all partners in this supply and marketing chain and therefore offer advantages to all participating partners.
