"Big Peruvian exporters invest on large scale blueberries"

In one of the valleys just outside of the City of Trujillo in Peru, Best Berries of Peru is very busy growing Blueberries for the Overseas Market. Following the success of Chile, Peru has a growing interest in exporting Blueberries for the European Market and also for Markets in other areas of the World.

Best Berries Peru has started last Year and will hopefully be in full production at the start of the 2015 Season. The Potential of the Business is very promising and the demand of the Market for good Quality Blueberries is growing. Hence the reason why Peru has a number of Large- and medium sized growers and Exporters that are investing in growing fields in Peru to be able to provide the Market with what they are asking for.

Francisco and Juan Pablo Ortuzar (Allfresh) Aurelie Nalet (INCA Invest), Anton Filippo (LBP Rotterdam BV) and Adriano Marcuzzo (Best Berries Peru) is one of the fields around Trujillo Peru.

LBP Rotterdam BV is already active in Peru for a number of Years and has been doing the Logistics for Overseas Blueberry exporters for the last 6 Years. Represented by Anton Filippo, together with INCA INVEST PERU, a trading Company that is assisting Peruvian Exporters with their business Overseas, and ALL FRESH EXPORTS, a Chilean Blueberry Export Company with a great interest in Peru, LBP Rotterdam BV visited Peru last week to see what is happening and what the development and expectations are for the Blueberry Business in general and from Peru in particular.

“Peru has been a very interesting Country for Agricultural developments. When you see what happened with Asparagus and with Avocado exports, I am sure that the development with these Blueberries will also be a great success for Peru,” says Anton Filippo. “Large exporters are planning many hectares of Blueberries to be able to start harvesting largely next year. This will have a great impact on the exports of the Berries mainly from Argentina and Uruguay. I am sure that also Chile is following the developments with great attention. The cooperation that Hortifrut Chile and Peruvian Exporter TAL SA recently announced is a great example of this interest."

Filippo visited the Fields around Trujillo last week to see what the status of some the Exporters is at the moment and to know what the plans and forecasts are.
“I am really impressed with what the Peruvians are achieving the last Years. It looks like that it has only just begun. They see the windows and opportunities in the market and act immediately. They have been successful with other products such as Grapes and Mango as well, so there is no reason not to be certain that this development can be the next episode in the Peruvian success story,” he concludes. LBP Rotterdam BV has made Peru one of their key countries for development for the Years ahead.
