Brazil: new internet platform presented to promote foreign trade

Last week, the Brazilian government presented the new internet platform 'BrazilExport - Trade and Investment Guide', German website Fruchthandel.de reports. The purpose of this website is to promote foreign trade.

On the website, information in English, Spanish and Portuguese can be found on subjects like import, export and investment opportunities in the South American country, information on logistics and customs regulations, as well as information on current developments and events. In addition, there's the opportunity to ask 'BrazilExport' questions.

Neri Geller, the Brazilian minister of Agriculture, who developed the platform together with the ministries of External Relations and Economic Affairs, sees 'BrazilExport' as an important instrument for the simplification and de-bureaucratization of foreign trade. The agricultural sector in Brazil is developing fast, and is increasingly tied up in bureaucracy. In this situation, it is of decisive importance to make information available to companies in a straightforward manner.
