Limited supply of cauliflower throughout north west Europe

The production of cauliflower is at an extremely low level at the moment. This was reported by Smeding in its weekly newsletter. This dip will last until the end of this week. In the end the weather decides the definitive course. The main cause is the very early spring. The cultivations of cauliflower have come forward as a result of the very agreeable and relatively warm weather. What we're experiencing now is that the connection of the growing periods isn't perfect. This creates a hole in the production. The cultivation expected this dip, but no one could predict when it would happen.

This situation is the same throughout north west Europe. It is present in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and in the UK. Based on observations in the field and the predicted weather conditions, Smeding assumes that they will not be able to supply enough over the next few days.
