DBS takes over carrot supplier Verco

DBS, the Antwerp company from Sint-Katelijne-Waver, has taken over Verco, a company from Maasmechelen in Limburg. Verco specializes in washing, sorting, packaging and delivering carrots. A business relation with Verco, a supplier to DBS, was already in place. The bond of trust which developed over the years, proved invaluable in the takeover process. It was decided to retain the activities, the name of the organization, the clients, the suppliers and the staff. 

After Henny's inspiring leadership, Dominique Severijns and Gunther De Boelpaep took over. Owner Henny Verjans is enjoying his well-earned retirement now, but will be available for some years at Verco as an advisor. Because DBS is such a dynamic company, it got Henny's attention as a takeover candidate. "Why not? We examined the takeover possibilities and considered the vision 'companies take over companies'. Continually looking forward with efficiency is at the heart of existence and the successful continuation of our business", Dominique Severijns says.

Through this takeover, DBS hopes to perpetuate Verco's recognized service and quality. "For the marketing of their carrots, we want to keep counting on cooperating with existing customers. A few necessary investments relating to packaging and quality also present themselves. All in all, we look forward to a bright future for Verco."

In 2006, DBS was established by Gunther De Boelpaep and Dominique Severijns. Their economic activity will remain the same as well. DBS has recently begun to offer tomatoes, vine tomatoes and endive in new packaging, the Infinity Food - Box. This way they give a new dimension to their product sales. Launching the new packaging provides a new identity. "Customers wish to distinguish themselves, using authenticity and exclusivity, and this is possible with Infinity Food - Box. The first comments are very positive, and it's possible that other products will follow," says Gunther De Boelpaep.
