Fruit and vegetable snacks increasingly popular

World Cup underlines new trends

Vegetables on the grill instead of meat, veggie-dips instead of chips, as well as fruit sticks are the new favourites during the football World Cup. The growing trend for grilling vegetables was already evident at this year’s Fruit Logistica – the Swiss company Eisberg won the Fruit Logistica Innovation Award (FLIA) for their BBQ grill mix.

Next year’s Fruit Logistica will also set trends and, just like to World Cup, bring together lots of countries in one location. “We are expecting more than 60,000 visitors from over 140 countries. That’s more people than can fit in most football stadiums” emphasises Gérald Lamusse, Global Brand Manager of Fruit Logistica. The leading global trade fair for the international fresh produce industry takes place in Berlin from 4-6 February 2015.

The event organiser is delighted with the number of bookings, four weeks before the final registration deadline. “We have registered the strongest demand for exhibition space from companies around the world ever at this stage,” says Lamusse. Companies looking to exhibit can book stands until 31 July using the online forms.
