Future Fresh Ltd NZ Director joins Bioconservacion Asia team to fight ethylene

Future Fresh Ltd in New Zealand has been the distributor of Bioconservacion Spain’s ethylene control products for 8 years now and the Director of the company, Brent Rogers, has been invited to join Bioconservacion as Export Manager throughout the whole Asia region.

Bioconservacion supply a high quality ethylene removal technology which is available in over 40 countries around the world, including NZ, but Rogers sees the Asian market as an important region for growth.

“We are strong in the European and South American markets for example, but we have limited presence in the Asia region. Fresh produce is a multi-Billion dollar industry in Asian export, import and domestic consumption markets and the cool chain plays a significant role in retaining quality. Unfortunately the mixture of produce in the various cool storage environments causes ethylene contamination, therefore quality is lost and the shelf life is decreased. Like many markets, the large Asian consumer market is always after the best quality produce available – something our low cost technology can assist with throughout the entire Asia region’s cool chain”, states Rogers.

“It’s a product I am proud of for numerous reasons, so I am happy to assist in developing the Asia region. Being ISO9001:2008 and Organic certified means we provide the highest quality media which is safe for fresh produce and any staff members involved because it’s non-additive. It helps retain the harvested quality - great for the grower, storage facility and the consumer. It can help decrease spoilage throughout the entire cool chain – so higher profits and a step in the right direction for the environment. It’s also low cost and near maintenance free. We find it a win/win for everyone involved”, says Rogers.
