Argentina: Citrusvil SA obtains GlobalGAP GRASP certification

Citrusvil SA, the company that strives to be pioneers in their products excellence and quality, decided to go beyond the production and marketing of safe food certification by attaining the GlobalGAP standard.

As part of the company's social responsibility framework, where the commitment to their employees is a priority, Citrusvil's purpose for 2014 was obtaining the GlobalGAP GRASP certification. This is a voluntary annex to the GlobalGAP standard that certifies and helps producers to establish a good social management system on their farms, and offers buyers an additional warranty. It also helps to protect one of the most important resources of a company: its people.

The company was audited to assess its social practices, specifically issues relating to health, safety and the workers welfare. This certification takes into consideration all of the points concerning the GlobalGAP standard, plus interviews and documentation relating to the employees working conditions and community relations.

This comprehensive audit concluded that Citrusvil complied with good social practices on their farms and packing facilities; making it the first company in Argentina to have the GlobalGAP GRASP certificate.
