24-26 September; Cesena, Italy

Macfrut preparing for record-breaking addition

Macfrut 2014 registrations are proceeding at a fast pace. After the positive results of last year (24,800 certified visitors, with exhibitors coming from 35 countries), the international exhibition of the fruit and vegetable sector to be held in Cesena (Italy) from 24th to 26th September is receiving confirmations of participation from important guests.

Many countries and businesses will exhibit at the show: Brazil, China, the Dominican Republic, Tunisia, France, Egypt and Turkey have confirmed their presence, and this year there are important new entries, such as Mexico.

Thanks to the intense activity carried out by the Foreign Department of Macfrut, many professional visitors will take part in the event, coming from all over the world, particularly from the Mediterranean basin: from Algeria to Tunisia, from Morocco to Egypt.

A key role will be played by businesses from Eastern Europe, from the Balkans in particular, and a selection of highly qualified Russian businesses of the fruit and vegetable sector will take part in the show in Cesena.

Macfrut has opened a privileged channel with Australia and South Africa, that will be present in Cesena with official delegations which will be the eagerly awaited protagonists of bilateral meetings. “We are very satisfied of how registrations are proceeding”, says the President of Cesena Fiera, Domenico Scarpellini. “This shows clearly that, despite the difficult period for the economy in many areas of the world, our sector is alive and our show is a reference point”.

As usual, many conferences will take place at the show, providing for dialogue at international level and inspiration. In particular, Macfrut 2014 will anticipate the subjects that will be dealt with at Expo 2015 and will host an ad hoc conference on the need to “produce well for better food”, getting ready for the big event in Milan that will start in little less than twelve months.
