Dominican Republic: Harvesting of President's pineapples has commenced

The first pineapples which are part of the plantation renovation project launched by Dominican President Danilo Medino were harvested on 4th April 2014.

10 million premium-quality MD2 pineapple shoots were imported thanks to government funding, which helped APROPIC, an association gathering over 90% of pineapple growers, enormously.

The first batch of premium-quality pineapples were produced and exported by the Italian AL.MA. thanks to the work of Fabio Giuntoli, administrator of "Frutas Chiara srl" and Mario Velazquez.

Alberto Albuzza, owner of AL.MA Srl, said that he was "honoured of having been chosen as the European counterpart."
