Greek watermelon season starts at De Stigter Fruithandel

Last week De Stigter received the first truck watermelons from their regular supplier in Greece. After the big success in 2013 Baris Altan, the king of watermelons at De Stigter, recently visited Greece again to make agreements for the coming season. "I believe it is important to speak to the people in person and to see the progress in cultivation," says Baris proudly.

"Last year was a good watermelon year and the expectations for 2014 are high. We have our customers' trust and we want to keep it," continues Baris. The arrivals will be a little irregular at the start. But further on in the season multiple trucks per week will arrive straight from Greece to unload the watermelons at De Stigter Fruithandel BV at the Food Centre in Amsterdam.
