Vegetable prices on decrease, but ginger prices still up

Out of 41 vegetables in the Guangdong Province, 30 vegetables prices are down by 1.11% as reported this week by the province’s "food basket" price monitoring center.

While most vegetable prices have declined slightly. Of the 41 vegetables monitored, the average price is at 3.55 yuan per half a kilo, a 1.11% decrease from last week. 30 vegetable prices dropped, while 4 remained the same, and 7 vegetables increased. Of the vegetables that increased, the retail price of ginger had the biggest change. In 4 cities and 21 farmer markets, ginger retail for 8.7 yuan per half a kilo, an increased 8.75% from last week. Some parts of the market even sell ginger for as high as 11 yuan per half a kilo. (1 Yuan= $0.16 USD)
