Dutch romana lettuce available from Marnifruit in flow pack

For product manager Bas van der Wal from Marnifruit, this year Dutch romana lettuce packaged and delivered in Kings flow pack, is one of the highlights. "Through working with growers towards producing a uniform high quality product, it is now possible to bring romana lettuce to the market this season, and market it under the Kings brand, in flow pack. Once the romana lettuce is cut, it is washed and chilled by 2 degrees before going into the Kings bags. This removes any bits of earth and protects the quality of the product for longer."

Last week the first packaged romana lettuce was available in Barendrecht, The Netherlands. Bas, a former lettuce grower, and expert, is very satisfied with the quality and packaging. This opinion was also shared by his first customers, both home and abroad, who received this packaged romana lettuce. The Marnifruit sales team have high expectations for the product. "Of course there are lots of different varieties of lettuce: lollo rosso, lollo bionda, oak leaf and frissee in Luna (grown in the ground) which are also marketed under the Kings brand, (grown in furrows and available year round), and also widely available.

Recently available are the first Dutch vine tomatoes marketed under the Luna brand. Features: rough and tasty, packaged in a nice box, and Dutch red, yellow and green peppers, are also available from the Barendrecht warehouse.
