Makro and Colruyt change to Dynamic Big MaxiCrate (BMC)
"These are real 'bulk buys' and sell better this way, so they are also presented in bulk," explains Jurgen van Herp from Polymer Logistics. "The advantage of this system is that the container has an adjustable base which means the product can always be seen and gives a better presentation on the shop floor. The flexible bottom automatically sinks when product is added and vice versa. For this reason the containers work best with heavier products."
"The Dynamic Big MaxiCrate (BMC) saves time and money in the retail trade and customers think the containers are filled completely. This stimulates sales on the shop floor. Storage and transport costs are then minimised and also fixes the problem of products being available in the store but not on the shop floor," said Jurgen.
Retailer Colruyt have also changed over to these 'one-touch' containers in their stores. The Belgian retailer started with crystal clear crates. "The benefit of these crates is that it increases visibility enormously. The crystal clear crates don't hide product, but gives it the attention needed for it to sell," explained Jurgen. Over the last twenty years Polymer Logistics have brought many eco-friendly products to the market. These sustainable and lightweight products help make storage, transport and sales of many products simpler.
