Fabiola Neuenschwander, of Greenland Peru

"Avocado campaign very important for Peru"

Greenland Peru is a Peruvian company that exports fruits (Grapes, Avocados, Mangos), vegetables (Onions and Paprika) and processed foods (Maca). Its products are supplied by farmers who benefit from the markets and brands used by Greenland to sell their products, thus reducing a large percentage of their costs and becoming strategic partners from the post harvest to the final sale of the product.

Greenland Peru's main destinations for mango exports are the United States and Europe. The high standards maintained by the Peruvian company meet the increasingly stringent demands of the European market, which has led to an increase in exports in recent years.

The Peruvian avocado export season began recently and Greenland Peru, which works from north to south, will also start operations in the next few weeks. "We offer the best product in terms of quality because we comply with the market's demands, " says Fabiola Neuenschwander, head of Greenland Peru's export department.

According to Fabiola, this avocado campaign will be very important for Peru. Export volumes will be higher than last year. The main destinations for this fruit are Europe, the U.S. and Chile. The company is also performing some shipments to Asia, mainly to Hong Kong.

Avocados are still not very strong in the Asian market; however, their popularity is starting to increase as different customers, such as hotels or restaurants, are making use of the fruit.

The grape season, which ended a month ago, has been challenging for all of Peru," commented Fabiola. However, the volume exported by Greenland to markets in Asia, America and Europe was higher than what the company expected. The Peruvian product has a great reputation in various markets and the company makes great efforts to keep increasing exports year after year.

The fruit exported by Greenland Peru is packaged and sold under their own brand, Greenland, as well as under their client's brand if they request it. Their fields have phytosanitary certificates issued by SENASA and the Global GAP; which is very important for Europe.

"Season after season we work to meet all of the market's requirements. Our main goal is to live up to the expectations of our customers, and this is reflected in the company's growth year after year," Ms. Neuenschwander concluded
