EU: Moroccan courgettes above minimum price for only a day

The price of Moroccan courgettes exported to the European Union during week 12 (17 to 23 March) only stood for one day above the minimum price established for this vegetable, according to sources from Andalusia's Council of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development.

The reference price below which Morocco should not sell its courgettes to the EU is of 0.413 Euro/kilo, as stated in the trade agreement between both countries, but only on Thursday 20 March did prices stand above that figure.

Moroccan courgettes exports to the EU since the beginning of the campaign have already totalled 43,583 tonnes.

Tomatoes
Tomato prices, on the other hand, have remained above the reference price (0.461 Euro/kilo), standing at an average of 0.77 Euro/kilo for the entire week.

The total volume of tomatoes exported by Morocco to the EU within the period at hand was of 197,171 tonnes; 73.3% of the total contingent established until 31 May.

Shipments this week totalled 525 tonnes; 26% more than the previous one, while prices have dropped by around 14%.
