Peru: Exports of organic products could reach $300m dollars

PromperĂș estimated that the exports of organic products would amount to nearly U.S. $300 million in 2014, 13% more than the 263.5 million dollars achieved last year.

Arturo Zevallos, a specialist in Agribusiness from PromperĂș, said that, after an apparent recovery in exports of organic coffee, they estimated exports would grow conservatively (between 5% and 8%) at the beginning of this year.

PromperĂș stressed that the five products that led the Peruvian export offer in the ecological subsector, which together accounted for 83.9% of total shipments, were bananas, coffee, cacao, maca and quinoa.
