Million Euro fraud with fruit boxes München

In the German town of München a threesome has been concentrating on special stolen goods: returnable fruit boxes. For this they collaborate with a fruit and vegetable trader from the 'Großmarkthalle München'. Last week the two men and one woman went out on a foray in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, reports the German website tz.de.

The threesome would regularly visit supermarkets and steal masses of empty fruit boxes that were stacked outside. The trader from the Großmarkthalle would collect the deposit of around four Euro per fruit box. Last Wednesday, however, the threesome's rampage ended at the fruit trader in the Großmarkthalle, where they were stopped and arrested by the police. A search of 14 homes and company locations belonging to the businessman on Thursday morning led the police to uncover a lot of evidence. Besides over 500 fruit boxes the officers also found accounting documents and data carriers, as well as a four figure amount of cash. The wholesaler made huge amounts of money with the fruit box deception. Around 1.5 million Euro was made over the past four years. The wholesaler and his three accomplices are being detained for the time being.
