Cravo partners with Capgen Seeds to impact planting dates, densities on yield
In order to evaluate the impact of different planting dates and densities on yield, this year at the Cravo research greenhouse in Culiacan Mexico, Cravo is doing trials with Capgen Seeds on tomatoes with 2.5 and 3.3 plant/ m2 densities with a planting date of September 6 and October 16, 2013.
The crops planted September 6 were hit by a hurricane only one week after transplanting. Late blight has been a significant problem in the region but damage has been minimal since the roof has been used to protect plants from high moisture while still allowing direct sunlight midday to keep leaves dry. Crops grown are Roma, cherry, grape and cluster tomatoes and peppers.
