BR Fresh Exotics again on Chinese ginger tour
"A quick check of a local Anqiu supermarket revealed the local consumption price was around two Euro a kilo, so even for the Chinese there was no escape. Export prices from China are still very high, added to by the rising cost of sea freight. Purchase prices are now already higher than the current Dutch price. "What is wisdom, for a yearly stagnation bump to happen in April/May is mind blowing," said Rob de Jong to himself. "BR Fresh Logistics is committed to carry on with import. Continuing to provide is our motto and with a good season behind us this bump will be financially smoothed out again."

In addition, BR Fresh Exotics looked at the Chinese eddo production. "What we have seen on location is very promising compared to the quality recently seen on the Dutch market. After a rest we will pick up the thread for import of eddo."
