Israeli celery exporters looking to Russia

Israeli exporters increasingly looking to the Russian market where they have a competitive edge.

Alex Shindler from UMS Trade said: “The main reason for Israeli celery export being focused in the Russian market is because the Russians have grown to appreciate the premium quality of Israeli celery and logistically we have the edge over Spanish product due to our geographical proximity to Russia and better logistical solutions. The opposite is true in the European markets where we are a very small player volume wise and the Spanish have the geographical advantage.” The total volume of the celery exported from Israel decreased significantly this year from Israel and is around 7000 tons.
