Mexico: Banana prices are agreed upon

The pricing committee of the Regional Union of Banana Producers from Pacifico Centro, Colima, Jalisco and Michoacan, reported the agreed price of the giant dwarf banana variety starting Thursday, March 13. They noted that buyers had to comply with the agreed prices or be subjected to sanctions. The price of the premium quality giant dwarf banana is of six pesos and fifty cents while the export quality banana’s price is six pesos. The bananas packed in cardboard are at five pesos and fifty cents, and the quality fruit packed in wooden crates is at four pesos and fifty cents.

The Regional Union invited banana producers to defend prices and to denounce those who do not honour the agreements so that they can be sanctioned.
