Colombia: Onion prices increase because of rains

As was reflected in the Dane's weekly wholesale prices newsletter, the prices of basic household goods have increased due to the rains that have affected most of the country in recent days. Throughout this week, there's been a general rise in the wholesale price of white onions, which had price increases in twenty of the twenty-nine markets where it was sold. This increase was a result of the decrease in the collection of onions due to the increased rainfall in the provinces of Centro, Ricaurte and Sugamuxi.

The Welsh onion, in turn, increased its price in fourteen of the twenty-one markets where it was sold. There's been a reduction in supply due to the rainfalls that affected collection and a decrease in production in Aquitania.
