South Afrcan trade mission to visit Italy

The Department of Trade and Industry (Dti) South Africa will be organising a trade mission to Italy this month. As well as fresh produce exporters there will be suppliers of wine and spirits and processed food. The delegation will be in Italy from 17th to 21 of March and will visit markets and potential importers of their products in Milan and Rome and surrounding areas.

This will be the first time the Dti have is sending a trade mission to Italy, this is being organised following a similar successful trip to the The Netherlands.

In 2012 Italy imported USD$5 million of fresh produce (including nuts) from South Africa. Imports are mainly counter-season fruit which is not available in Italy.
