135 million Euro in sales

Primaflor's net revenue up 8% in 2013

The company Primaflor's net revenue in 2013 was close to 135 million Euro; an 8% increase compared to the previous year. Its sales are split by 50% between the domestic and the international markets and a third of the revenue was generated from its range of ready-to-eat salads.

The firm, based in the town of PulpĂ, Almeria, gives employment to an average of 2,000 people per year, 55% of which are women. It owns 4,000 hectares of plantations where the latest state-of-the-art technology is used.

For the past 40 years, Primaflor has been devoted to the production, sale and distribution of horticultural products, especially leafy vegetables, such as iceberg, baby and romaine lettuce, as well as salads.

During a visit from the regional delegate of Economy, Innovation, Science and Employment, Adriana Valverde, to Miraflor's facilities, representatives of the firm mentioned "the need to continue investing in transport infrastructures, especially high-speed trains, and water infrastructures, with the goal of gaining competitiveness."

They also expressed their interest in launching a logistics platform in PulbĂ linked to the ports of Almeria and Cartagena "to facilitate the transport of goods from the northern part of the province of Almeria."
