Ukraine wants to export potatoes to EU

At this moment Ukrainian potato farmers want to meet the requirements for the export of their products to the EU. Reports Fruchthandel.de.

Nikolai Gordijtschuk, the vice president of the national potato growers association, determined in mid-February at a Dutch-Ukrainian Agribusiness Forum that export to the EU was not possible until now because potatoes grown in the Ukraine failed to meet the phytosanitary requirements of the EU. To be able to begin the deliveries quarantined areas are now set up in selected regions, announced Gordijtschuk. Proposals for the implementation of such a program has been submitted to the Ministry of Agriculture.
