Spain: AgrupaEjido's net turnover up 10%

According to sources from the group, AgrupaEjido's prospects for the campaign will once again be positive. Its net turnover has so far increased by 10% compared to last year, with similar sales volumes as last campaign and several products registering higher average prices.

In the 2012/2013 campaign, the firm sold 110 million kilos of vegetables, receiving 90 million Euro in return. Current prospects point to better figures this season.

The German market represents a very important part of the company's exports, with good reason, as Germany is, along with the United States, the world's largest fruit and vegetable consumer. Peppers are AgrupaEjido's flagship product, followed by cucumbers, aubergines and courgettes.

Since last year, Germany has become one of the main targets for the promotion of the firm's organic range. This season, it has been expanded with new products and the catalogue now includes courgettes, aubergines, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, melons and watermelons. Germany is where the sale and consumption of organic products is growing the most.

The company's acreage devoted to organic crops will increase this season and their availability will be extended until the month of July.
