Cyprus: Limited supply of new potatoes

Cyprus' winter harvest is barely flowing West from middle Europe, reports Germany's agricultural information bureau (AMI) on their website. The amount has slightly grown but supply is very slow to UK and German markets. 4,000 tons arrived in the UK but more is not expected. Potatoes have been delivered to Poland and Croatia. Additionally, the Greek market has supplied plenty of round oversized potatoes where demand is great.

According to information from 'Potato Calls', Cyprus' spring harvest is currently very good, although a little more rain would be appreciated. So long as it doesn't freeze in February, the harvest will start in mid March and the expected result should be similar to that from the previous year.
