Less juice in babyfood

German investigation institution for child nutrition (FKE) has realised it's 'food plan for a baby's first year', said the German website oekotest.de. By following up it's nutrition plan, it guarantees healthy nutrients.

What has changed? The recommended amount of juice in vegetables, potatoes or meat, was halved from 30 to 40 grams (depending the age of the baby) to 15 or 20 grams. Previously, experts recommended light sweet tasting vegetables, for example carrots are help digestion. Carrots compared to other vegetables include little vitamin C. That is why parents had to give several spoons extra of vitamin C fruit juice.

Parents should give a variety of vegetables, that are rich of vitamin C, such as broccoli, cabbage, turnip or paprika. This is also a reason to reduce the addition of sweet juice in kids food.
