Italy: Agreement with Chile in the name of high-quality kiwis
Increase kiwi consumption worldwide and promote and increase exports - these are the objectives of the agreement stipulated on 5th February 2014 in Berlin between Italy and Chile.
The agreement was signed by Alessandro Fornari, chairman of Kiwi Fruit of Italy, and Carlos Cruzat, chairman of Chilean Kiwifruit Committee (Ckc). The two countries will share their competence and knowledges to better manage the increasing demand of foreign countries for high-quality fruit.
While Cruzat stressed the importance of informing consumers, as they often find it difficult to assess whether kiwis are ripe, Fornari warned how customer satisfaction is directly linked with quality.
The agreement, which is open to other producer and distributor countries, has no commercial purposes.
