Potatoes, fruit and vegetables: 10 years QS

German website Gabot.de report that German company 'QS quality and security GmbH', who are committed to assuring safe, high quality food, are this year celebrating the tenth anniversary since the introduction of its quality assurance system for potatoes, vegetables and fruit. The official regulations for the system were laid down at the 2004 Fruit Logistica trade fair in Berlin. Since its foundation the QS product control system has become widely recognised through its distinctive blue label.

Fruit wholesalers 'Vereinigte Großmärkte für Obst + Gemüse Rheinhessen eG' were one of the first fruit & vegetable partners to sign to the system of quality standards. Other partners since then include 'Central market Roisdorf/Straelen GmbH', 'Erzeugergroßmarkt Langförden-Oldenburg eG', 'Mitteldeutsche Zwiebelkontor GmbH' and 'REKA Rheinland'.
