Roveg introduces coconut opener

Roveg introduces, as a specialist in exotics, a coconut opener at the Fruit Logistica. With a simple motion it is possible to make a hole in the soft eye of the coconut to allow the coconut milk to run out. With a few hard blows the coconut will split open. In more than 95% of the cases the nut splits neatly in 2 halves. Because of the broad, blunt leaf of the opener the force placed on the nut becomes optimum. Consequently the weight of the opener could remain low with the result that anybody in the kitchen, both young and old, slender or sturdy, is capable of handling it. The opener is kitchen friendly and therefore should be in every kitchen drawer.

Under the leadership of IIC, the company behind the TV program "The best idea of the Netherlands" this opener has been developed and will be on the market in May 2014. At the development of the Puro Gusto retail concept they noticed, that it was difficult to open this beautiful fruit. Simply because not everybody knows how to act, or to go for the fruit with a hammer, which does not really fit in with the kitchen environment. After extensive tests for effectiveness and user friendliness this model was approved by everybody and is being produced at the moment. The first hand-made models will be marketed by Roveg under the Puro Gusto label.
