Fruit Logistica, Hall 21 - Stand B-04 (Unaproa area)

Italy: 2013 was a good year for Agricola Campidanese

"Land is our treasure, agriculture is our world, our products are our pride" - this is the motto of Agricola Campidanese. The cooperative is located in the heart of Sardinia and, thanks to the hard work of a small group of farmers, it is becoming a PO.

Agricola Campidanese grows traditional local produce such as carrots, melons and watermelons, with a turnover of over €1 million each. The cooperative closed 2013 with a €9 million turnover - 13% more than 2012.

Carrots from Terralba, melons and watermelons from San Nicolò Arcidano, artichokes from Giba, Masainas, Santa Maria Coghinas and Cabras and tomatoes from Terralba and Pula Decimomannu Assemini are only some of the products of the PO, which also deals with processing, packaging and sales guaranteeing traceability and checks along the whole chain. 90% of the produce is destined to the domestic market, so only 10% of it goes abroad.

Produce is cultivated with integrated control techniques in order to reduce the use of chemicals. When harvested, fruit and vegetables are labelled differently depending on the producer and are then taken to the processing plant, where they are packed according to the needs of clients.

"Our business policy is based on tasty products and competitive prices," say the representatives of the company.

In addition to traditional products, in 2013 Agricola Campidanese also introduced whole and sliced mushrooms.

The new "L'Orto di Eleonora" mushroom range.

The PO respects high-quality parameters and the balance between tradition and an ever evolving market. "Produce must comply with freshness, health, grading and ripening standards. We want to supply our clients with excellent fruit and vegetables."

OP Agricola Campidanese will attend Fruit Logistica 2014 (Berlin, 5th-7th February), Hall 21 - Stand B-04 (Unaproa area). Packed-unwashed and fresh-cut carrots, red chicory, sugarloaf chicory, artichokes and tomatoes will be on display.

Sales director Salvatore Lotta; sales manager Marco Lotta; quality manager Alice Mura; production manager Serena Mura; personnel manager Monica Manca and marketing manager Katia Marcias will represent the company.
