"November & December very difficult for mango market"
"In November 2012 the season was excellent and this lasted until December 15 when too much fruit arrived and the market began to collapse. January 2013 was also a difficult month with the remnants from Brazil and the start of the Peruvian season, but Peru did supply less."
"At the moment it is time to clear out the supply and start again. The Peruvian season is now running on and Brazil is as good as over." According to Eryvan more volume was shipped over than the previous year. "The numbers are in line with historical volumes. Week 4 is normally the peak of the Peruvian mango season so I do not expect prices to go up in these first months. On the other side I think retailers could do more to promote the mango so that consumers can learn more about the possibilities of this tasty fruit and purchase more. We have put a difficult season behind us so hopefully it will get better."
