Korean market expected to receive Oscar® kiwi's on Christmas day

The town of Labatut in south west France is buzzing with excitement. The first container of French kiwi fruit destined for the South Korean market has been loaded. It is flying the colours of the Oscar® kiwi.

'The first 20 tonnes are expected in Seoul around 25th of December and our customers can't wait to taste Oscar®', says Jean-Baptiste PINEL, Managing Director of the Prim'Land sales office.

'Eight years of relentless effort have been necessary to obtain the authorizations from the French and Korean Quarantine Departments, but it's been worth it' emphasizes François Lafitte, President of Prim'Land and the first person to initiate procedures with these governmental bodies.

For the 2013-2014 season, Prim'Land is expecting to sell 17,000 tonens of kiwis, with more than 35% going to Asia. The uncontested leader in France, the Oscar® kiwi is now developing fast on the Asian market.
