First ever awards at Asia Fruit Logistica
Zespri’s President of Global Sales and Marketing Dan Mathieson was presented with the Marketing Campaign of the Year award. Asia accounts for around 60 percent of Zespri’s revenue and is home to Zespri’s fastest-growing markets of China and Southeast Asia, as well as Zespri’s important and long-standing market, Japan.
"Asia is a demanding place to get your product recognised and build consumer loyalty, particularly when you're operating in a hugely competitive and crowded fresh produce space," said Mathieson. He was said to be "delighted and honoured" to receive the reward.
The second was Importer of the Year which was won by Chop Tong Guan from Malasia. Chop Tong Guan (CTG), service virtually all supermarkets, hypermarkets, wholesalers, as well as traditional wet markets in Malaysia.
The third was Retailer of the Year which was won by Tops/Central Food retailer from Thailand. The company currently operates 217 branches nationwide with 103 stores in Bangkok and 114 stores located in upcountry.
