Spain: Big increase export to Eastern Europe

"The harvest is a bit different this year. The weather conditions make distribution difficult," explains David Moreno, CEO of international Logesta. "The potato harvest, for example, is a month late and will now coincide with that of the Sandia melon from Almeria. Also, recent flooding of rivers in Central Europe hampered exports to Southern Germany and the Czech Republic. "

Due to the economic crisis, the transport costs are higher, resulting in discordant import and export. "In the short term there is no change in sight, domestic consumption should increase in order to increase imports," says Moreno.

With headquarters in Madrid and offices in Portugal, France, Italy, Netherlands, Germany, Poland and Morocco, Logesta covers all transport areas of the EU; to Moscow in the North and Romania in the East. With more than 1,600 trucks the company builds on two strategic lines: transport of valuable goods and transport of fresh produce.

"Logesta will attend Fruit Attraction in Madrid from 16 to 18 of October. The event offers a good opportunity to meet our export customers," says Moreno.
