In cooperation with Barka and Synergo

Agristo satisfied with solution treatment of washing water

Agristo BV in Tilburg, the Netherlands, with parent company in Harelebeek - Belgium, has specialized in the production of deep-freeze and pre-fryed chips and various potato products.
This year the company seriously invested in the treatment of the washing water of the potatoes. Agristo was keen to avoid large sedimentation basins, which require a lot of space. In order to solve this they approached Barka Services from Belgium. For the new project at Agristo also the project manager Rien Melis and his co-workers of the firm of Synergo from the Netherlands were approached. The cooperation between the three companies was first class, according to the spokesmen.

Dieter Raes and Antoon Wallays of Agristo explain, "Barka Services offered us a fantastic solution, which separates the soil from the washing water. This is made possible by means of the machine 'Bucket Wheel'. This has been built for more than 60 years for the sand industry and was discovered by Barka. The machine works perfectly."

For more than ten years this machine has also proven its services at the Dutch vegetable company Frank Laarakker.

"The ideas were discussed together and finally the Bucket Wheel was delivered and placed by Barka Services. The pre-filtering before the separation of the organic material was also supplied by Barka Services. The substructure, which weighs about 11 tons (see photographs) together with finishing of the roof of the building was done by a supplier of Barka, Messrs.Vandecapelle in Kortemark - Belgium.

The complete works as shown on the photographs was done between Tuesday afternoon 12.00 o'clock and Thursday evening 18.00 hours," Bart Verduyn of Barka Services bvba said. "The next phase is to rebuild the roof over the machine, as this is just slightly higher than the building of Agristo."

"The new phase will again be extended in cooperation with Barka and Vandecappelle
and Synergo. Agristo are adamant about quality and the environment and for the perfection of their product. Here we like to assist with solutions. In the meantime a second machine has been sold by Frank Laarakker, which will be supplied in July."
