One year after the earthquakes on 20th and 29th May 2012, the ITAL-FRUTTA sac cooperative of San Felice sul Panaro (Emilia-Romagna) is back on the melon market with a plant built in record time despite bureaucracy and financial obstacles.

Thanks to this network, it will be possible to start production on time for the melon and watermelon campaign, which this year will be significantly delayed with respect to the usual end-of-May schedule.
The continuous reconstruction will finish part of the refrigerated chambers damaged by the earthquake before August, so that autumn pears can be stocked.
The photovoltaic plant (in the photo above, damages caused by the 2012 earthquake) has already been activated as to take advantage of the summer season.
