The National Mango Board (NMB) is hosting a free webinar for mango industry members to provide an overview of the Foreign Supplier Verification Programs (FSVP) requirements for Importers of Food for Humans and Animals regulation of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This free webinar will be presented in English only on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 3 p.m. EDT.
The FSVP is one of the seven primary rules included within the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). Regulations on FSVPs for importers of food for humans and animals require verification that the food they import into the U.S. is compliant with the hazard analysis and risk-based preventive controls, along with standards for producing safety provisions in the FDA’s FSMA.
These requirements are intended as general and flexible, to apply to a variety of circumstances without being burdensome or restrictive of trade.
The NMB has enlisted food safety expert Dr. Sergio Nieto-Montenegro from Food Safety Consulting and Training Solutions, LLC to facilitate the webinar. Following the presentation, he will hold a question and answer session. All mango industry members are encouraged to attend this webinar.
